Financial Services partner with all areas of CommBank to provide specialist advice, support and services in finance, audit, treasury, property, procurement, climate strategy and investor relations.
Technology delivers the Group's information technology functions to ensure the highest levels of customer service through world-class process excellence and technology innovation. Technology Finance is responsible for the provision of financial control and management services to the Technology division. We work closely with our stakeholders to help them understand their technology costs and deliver current and future strategic and financial plans.
Your team forms part of the wider Tech Finance Team of approximately 80 people and provides business partnering and financial management services to Technology and Business Unit CIOs.
Do work that matters
This role reports to the Executive Manager Business Partnering - CTO in Technology Finance and will lead a team of 4 staff. You will be responsible for assisting the Executive Manager to provide financial support to a Technology Leadership Team Executive, their LT and relevant finance stakeholders. This will include consolidation of the CTO results. Technology Finance partners with Technology to provide financial support to Business Unit CIOs and Executives responsible for group-wide technology services. This role will have dual focus, supporting the Global Service Management business and consolidating the different business areas within the Chief Technology Office.
Financial support includes:
Monthly management reporting, variance analysis and commentary for both BAU and investment portfolios. Maintenance of rigorous financial control, including balance sheet reconciliations. Technology Business stakeholder management. Driver based annual budget and quarterly forecasts. Providing commercial and strategic financial insights to stakeholders. Involvement in ad-hoc financial analysis and broader insights to drive tangible value. Identification and implementation of ongoing process improvements. You will partner closely with finance colleagues & leaders to:
Provide information and analysis in support of efficient and effective management of the business. Make contributions to enhance and manage the risk framework of the bank. Facilitate the execution of Technology Finance strategic initiatives and demonstrate our high-performance culture.
You will work with your Executive Manager and lead a team to deliver the following across the Technology business:
Financial Planning and Analytics (FP&A) activities
Assume responsibility for accuracy of contents and the timeliness of submissions to relevant parties. Recommending and supporting cost optimisation initiatives and cost control processes - liaising with the business on productivity savings tracking, the review of resourcing requests and key contract reviews. Preparation and presentation of monthly financial results and analysis for both BAU and investment spend to Technology, Business Unit and Finance General Managers. Support Technology stakeholders and Finance by providing strong financial management services and decision support including involvement in investment initiative business cases. Assess investment and operational opportunities through the provision of financial advice, modelling and insight. Provide subject matter expertise for the Technology portfolio's capitalisation, including detailed capex forecasting. Identifying and driving Technology Finance continuous improvement initiatives. Identification and escalation of issues to ensure appropriate risk management and financial control practices are in place. Ability to constructively challenge team and stakeholders as and when required. Create a strong team culture, and build and maintain productive relationships with Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders. We're interested in hearing from people who value:

Strong stakeholder management skills with proven experience in advising, challenging and influencing senior stakeholders and business outcomes. Effective verbal and written communication skills including presenting to senior management and leadership teams. Strong commercial, accounting and financial management experience including financial modelling and analytical skills and understanding of operational business drivers. Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously. Knowledge of the financial services and/or technology industry, including technology developments that are impacting Financial Services.
