Job Description
Great opportunity to join our team in Gladstone as a Coal Technician on a casual basis.
You will be responsible but not limited to:
Accurately conducting physical coal testing and analysis of routine samples.
Ensuring accuracy, precision and traceability of prepared samples.
Receipting, recording, sorting and storing coal samples as required.
Assisting with the preventative maintenance of all preparation and laboratory equipment.
Planning shift workflow and coordinating pick-ups and analysis.
Compliance with analytical methods, procedures and SGS Quality Systems.
Maintaining a safe working environment.
Qualifications
Coal sampling, preparation and testing experience is desirable, however not mandatory.
Previous experience in a general mineral laboratory environment preferred.
Good computer skills, i.e., Excel beneficial (G6 preferred, but not essential).
Ability to be a team player with strong communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
