About Our Client : Our client is a 100% Aboriginal-owned provider specialising in surface mining. With the largest privately owned fleet of surface miners and trenchers in Australia, they support a range of mining, renewable energy, and earthworks projects nationwide.
Role Overview : We are looking for a highly skilled Project Manager with a strong mechanical engineering background to oversee and manage the technical aspects of large-scale surface mining and earthworks projects. You will be responsible for managing and optimising the mechanical systems and equipment critical to the success of the project. This is a key leadership position where your expertise in mechanical engineering, project management, and operational efficiency will play a significant role in ensuring the timely, safe, and cost-effective completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities : Oversee and manage all aspects of surface mining projects, with a focus on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment. Lead and coordinate project teams, ensuring efficient and timely project delivery within scope and budget. Develop, implement, and track project plans, schedules, and budgets. Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success and resolve any issues or challenges. Identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure the smooth progression of the project. Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Requirements : Proven experience (minimum 5-7 years) in project management. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, surface processes, and heavy equipment operations. Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams. Experience with project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. In-depth knowledge of safety standards, environmental regulations, and compliance requirements within the mining or construction industries. Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field (preferred). Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritise tasks. Why Join Us?
