Congress has expanded to become the largest Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation in the Northern Territory and is one of the most experienced Aboriginal primary health care services in the country.
Congress provides a comprehensive, holistic and culturally-appropriate primary health care service to Aboriginal people living in and nearby Alice Springs, including five remote communities. It is a strong political advocate of closing the gap on Aboriginal health disadvantage and a national leader in improving health outcomes for all Aboriginal people.

We are looking for an Optometrist to join our Allied Health team. Join us at Central Australian Aboriginal Congress, where your expertise as an Optometrist can make a profound impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities.
Building upon recommendations stemming from a comprehensive situational analysis conducted by a respected consultant optometrist in 2023, you'll be presented with a unique opportunity to deliver essential eye care services to those most in need. Your role will ensure that every member of our community has access to top-tier vision care, promoting overall health and quality of life.
Become an integral part of Congress, one of Australia's most experienced Aboriginal primary health care organisations. Collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team, united in our mission to enhance health outcomes and effect positive change in the lives of Aboriginal community members across Central Australia.
Position includes occasional travel for outreach to remote communities.
