Position Details Assumption Catholic Primary School is a double stream co-educational school from Pre-Kindy to Year 6. A sense of pride and joy abounds in our flourishing learning community, where the whole community aspires daily to our school motto "United in Christ".
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Finance Officer to join our professional administration team. The person we are looking for will be a diligent and dedicated professional driven to improve processes and ensure compliance. The job will be a permanent 1.0 FTE depending on the successful candidate's availability.
The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and experienced, demonstrate enthusiasm, and the ability to provide the appropriate expertise in financial matters by assisting the Principal in school operations.
Selection Criteria ESSENTIAL : Commitment to the Assumption school values and ethos of Catholic education. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written skills. Ability to work as part of a team whilst still accepting responsibility for your own tasks. Demonstrated ability to work independently, to prioritise work, take initiative, and meet deadlines. Extensive experience in bookkeeping and financial reporting. Experience in financial procedures including accounts receivable, accounts payable, preparation of Business Activity Statements, and general ledger processing. Sound knowledge and demonstrated ability of relevant accrual accounting practices. Ability to think outside the square and find innovative solutions and better work processes. Friendly and approachable manner. Advanced level of computer skills and knowledge including experience in financial programs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Applications. HIGHLY DESIRABLE : A relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business, or a related field would be an advantage, but is not essential.
