Job Reference: 824314 Your new role We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our Commercialisation team and work closely with leading researchers to commercialise new technology.
The Resources Technology and Critical Minerals (RTCM) Trailblazer was launched in 2022 and supports innovation and commercialisation projects in partnership with industry. Your role will be focused on technologies being supported by the RTCM Trailblazer through the development and commercialisation phases, and you will have experience and/or knowledge relevant to the resources sector.
You will also get involved in the many other programs and initiatives we've established to support innovators and their start-up companies.
To be successful in this role, you will be an expert problem solver and a creative, big-picture thinker who will be proactive and energetic in developing business solutions to real world problems. Your genuine interest and excitement in this work, together with your demonstrated commercial acumen, experience in commercialisation, active listening, communication, relationship building and problem-solving skills, will enable you to work effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve lasting and impactful outcomes.

Selection Criteria Demonstrable commercial acumen and a proven record of successfully delivering business outcomes. Demonstrated strong negotiating skills in all aspects of business. Significant networking experience in the business and commercialisation community and a broad established network. Sound understanding and working knowledge of intellectual property protection. Familiarity with commercial law as it applies to agreements relevant to this role. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of small teams of multi-disciplined professionals. Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability in interpreting complex legal documents. Demonstrated skills in business planning. Knowledge of the research and innovation system in Australia. Desirable Criteria Track record of commercialising one or more technologies. Experience in working in or with a research organization.
