SO4 is committed to becoming a leader in the production of world-class Sulphate of Potash (SOP), having recently achieved the significant milestone of producing our first product. Our Lake Way operation, located in the Goldfields region of Western Australia, just 15 kilometres south of Wiluna.
We are now seeking an experienced Process Plant Supervisor. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a dedicated crew with both operational efficiency and strong interpersonal skills. The critical role is supportive as we continue our business efforts to ramp-up the process plant to achieve name-plate production. THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Processing Supervisor who is focused and driven, with a preference to work FIFO ex Perth on a 15 shifts on / 13 days off rotation. The Processing Supervisor reports to the Processing Plant Superintendent, and the primary role is to lead the Processing Team in a safe and productive work environment by ensuring all work practices and procedures meet Statutory, Company OHS and Company Operational Standards within the Processing Department.
You will be responsible for:
The health and safety of all personnel and the reporting of any environmental and/or WH&S incidents and accidents. Demonstrating technical leadership to achieve the productivity objectives, effectively communicated to your team to optimise plant throughput and minimise equipment downtime. Managing and coordinating plant shutdown and restart, controlling minor incidents and interpreting process plant schematics. Motivating employees to perform, measuring team performance and addressing issues as they arise. Developing and maintaining a productive relationship with crew members whilst assisting in the development of operator training plans. Assisting in achieving operating budgets and contributing to improvement opportunities in the plant. Completion of isolation permits & execution of isolations in the field, aligning to current practices and safe systems of work. Understanding and complying with Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022, as well as accepting statutory appointment as a Process Supervisor and ensuring compliance with associated statutory responsibilities. ABOUT YOU
This role would suit an experienced Processing Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be a people person with great communication skills who understands that your people are your greatest asset.
The successful candidate will have:
Sound knowledge of mechanical and chemical processes and chemical reagent hazards. Understanding of chemical and mechanical processes including attrition flotation circuit, conversion circuit and crystallisation circuit. Strong understanding of bagging shed control and operation. Sound understanding of control room operations in mineral processing operations, including crushing and flotation (reverse), thickening, tailings disposal and management (wet and dry). Strong understanding of safe mining practices, including personal isolation locks and job hazard analysis. Familiarity with CITECT systems and INX software. Strong understanding of mining operations and the use of equipment in a mining environment. Excellent communication skills, and the ability to carry out instructions. To thrive in this role you will need:
Minimum 5-7 years' supervisor experience in mineral processing, with at least 2 years working in potash processing (desirable). Prior experience in operational readiness and/or commissioning is advantageous. Significant experience in following permit to work and plant isolation procedures. Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices, computer literacy - particularly Pronto and MS Office. Experience leading a team of process technicians, and enabling the development of knowledge, experience, and skills across the team. The Qualifications you will possess:
Australian C Class Driver's Licence. Frontline management or equivalent (desirable). Completion of minimum requirements to satisfy Section 26 statutory requirements. This includes attainment of Level 4 risk management competencies and meeting the requirements of the DMIRS mining law examination applicable to the position.
