CLIMATE RISK POLICY OFFICER

We are the Rural Fire Service (RFS), a dedicated community of volunteers providing fire and emergency services to approximately 95% of NSW. What You'll be doing: We are seeking a motivated and strategic thinker to join our newly formed team as a Climate Risk Policy Officer. In this pivotal role, your contributions will shape policies and initiatives that protect communities, infrastructure, and the environment from current and future bush fire impacts.
As our ideal candidate, you will have: A background in environmental policy, climate science, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in policy development, ideally within NSW Government. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively. Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Knowledge of climate change adaptation strategies and bush fire risk management principles.
