About the Role : The Manager – Building and Assets will drive asset management, business growth, and service delivery within our not-for-profit organisation, supporting approximately 1,100 staff. This strategic role requires a proactive leader with strong technical expertise to align asset strategies with organisational goals.
Collaborating closely with Executive Directors and Managers, the Manager will lead the development and execution of asset and property strategies. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of building regulations, project development, and emerging trends in property and asset management, offering a unique opportunity to advance your skills and make an impact within a purpose-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities : Asset Management & Strategic Direction: Develop and implement asset management strategies and plans to align with organisational goals, optimise resource use, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with AMAF standards. Property Development & Building Management: Identify growth opportunities, develop business cases for investments, and oversee property projects in coordination with regulatory bodies and contractors. Property Management: Manage property operations, budgeting, maintenance, and vendor relations, implementing best practices and exploring technology solutions for efficiency. Fleet, Plant & Equipment Management: Oversee fleet and equipment needs within budget, working with team members to enhance operational efficiency and integrate technological improvements. Collaboration & Coordination: Collaborate with the CFO and stakeholders to align asset management plans with financial oversight, ensuring cohesive operational planning and execution. Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop team members to foster collaboration, professional growth, and effective resource management. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Communicate asset management practices clearly to all stakeholders, promoting integrated approaches and providing regular updates on project progress. About You: Essential: Minimum of 3 years in senior-level Asset, Building, or Property Management. Demonstrated expertise in strategic asset management, including development of asset strategies. Proven ability to manage construction, maintenance, and renewal programs. Strong budget management, business case development, and proposal writing skills. Leadership abilities to inspire and motivate teams. Commitment to high-performance practices and professional development. Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve disputes and broker agreements. Desirable: Management of assets within a large, geographically diverse organisation. Knowledge of the disability and foster care sectors within the not-for-profit context. Requirements: Current Australian Driver's Licence. Current NSW Working with Children's Check.
