THE ROLE We are looking to add an experienced Construction Manager to our Developments team to oversee the construction of our current developments.
Our long-term and highly experienced team requires a client-side resource to manage Tier 1 and 2 head contractors to deliver projects on time, budget, and to the required quality.
Reviewing designs prepared by external consultants; Management of tender and procurement processes prior to construction commencement; Negotiation of construction contracts and other documents, along with overseeing pre-commencement activities; Representing the developer's interests throughout the construction process; Commercial negotiations for variations, extensions of time and other terms; Ensuring quality is delivered by clearly setting standards and regular inspections; Reviewing progress claims prepared by independent quantity surveyors and superintendents; Engaging with the wider development team at completion to ensure smooth transition to operations. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic professional team environment. You will have a property-related degree and senior experience in working with Tier 1 or large Tier 2 builders on large projects, preferably in Perth. A high level of organization, problem-solving skills, and a strong ability to plan ahead to manage risk will be necessary.
Key experience will include: Minimum five years' industry experience - preferably with a builder or developer delivering residential apartments or townhouses. Recent experience as a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Construction Manager. Tertiary qualifications in construction management, engineering property, finance, or related discipline.
