Senior Accountant - Financial and Regulatory Reporting My client: Diversified financial services group. Top 20 ASX listed group.
About the Role: As part of the Group Financial & Regulatory Reporting team, you will join a dynamic and diverse group of professionals focused on delivering strong financial and regulatory control. In this role, you will be responsible for uplifting policies, processes, and standards, while providing financial insights to help business leaders achieve their targets.
Utilising your knowledge and experience with SQL, you will play an integral role in writing basic SQL queries to assist the team with detailed financial analysis of data and numbers.
Key Responsibilities: Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with various business units to build strong working relationships and deliver value-driven insights. Financial & Regulatory Reporting: Prepare financial and regulatory returns, detailed information packs, and analyses to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of reporting for the Group. SQL Skills: Write basic SQL queries for BAU investigations or to analyse financial data and reported numbers. Data Analysis & Reporting: Present financial and regulatory data in a clear, simple way that highlights key business value drivers and provides actionable insights. Efficiency Improvements: Contribute to ongoing efficiency improvements, streamlining activities and enhancing insights for better decision-making. Change Management: Support financial and regulatory reporting within change forums and initiatives, managing multiple competing priorities within a complex change agenda. Control Frameworks: Help enhance and support robust reporting policies, frameworks, and guidelines, ensuring that controls are effectively designed and operational. Team Collaboration: Work as part of a high-performing team, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and strong risk management. Key Experience & Competencies: A background in Finance or Accounting (CA / CPA preferred). Ideally 4+ years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably within banking or a related industry, or alternatively, experience gained at a Top 10 CA firm, will be highly regarded. You must have proven experience writing basic SQL queries. Strong capability in financial reporting, analytics, and presenting data to stakeholders in an understandable format. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to manage relationships with stakeholders and work collaboratively across functions. Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment. Ability to apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to complex situations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
