About the Role
Join the Change and Local Partnerships team as a Senior Project Officer, a pivotal role that combines project leadership with high-level administration and strategic expertise. This position is instrumental in implementing time-critical projects that support the state-wide network of local teams driving meaningful reform in early childhood education.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Change and Local Partnerships, you'll play a key role in stakeholder engagement, project development, and organizational improvement in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver complex, time-sensitive projects supporting local teams. Establish office processes, practices, and systems, ensuring effective project controls. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the Office for Early Childhood Development (OECD) and external partners. Provide high-quality documentation, data analysis, and reporting to support planning and evaluation. Oversee project meetings and ensure follow-up actions align with strategic goals. Deliver expert advice on government policies and procedures to influence decisions and improve business practices. About You
We are seeking candidates with a strong background in:
Government Systems: Familiarity with administrative policies, practices, and government project management. Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across diverse teams. Project Management: Proven ability to plan, execute, and deliver on complex projects with autonomy. Analytical Thinking: Expertise in synthesizing data and creating impactful reports to inform decisions. Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with evolving priorities. Qualifications and Requirements
Essential:
Ability to obtain a Department for Human Services Working with Children Check. Desirable:
A relevant project management qualification. Experience or knowledge of the early childhood education sector.
