The Fire Special Hazards Technician functions as a key member of a multi-skilled team to safely and effectively maintain facility infrastructure and critical systems at OASIS. This role provides a professional service in the execution of technical repair and maintenance of all assigned facility clean agent suppression equipment. This includes elements of planning, organization, coordination, scheduling, and resource management associated with the day-to-day maintenance of the facility's clean agent systems.
You will primarily be responsible for the efficient and timely completion of clean agent system maintenance tasks, identification of deficiencies, and repairs as required.
Operating within a small team of technicians, you will be expected to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the implementation of initiatives and technical advancement. The role will suit individuals who are able to think on their feet, respond to changes in assignments based on site needs, and complete assigned tasks to a high standard, whilst working closely with the Facilities Operations Team, other Facilities Maintainers, and OASIS departments to enable reliable, consistent, and effective maintenance and operation of facility systems.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire systems and associated infrastructure in accordance with applicable standards. Repairs and installation of associated fire systems and infrastructure. Work with operational and maintenance personnel to coordinate life safety system impairments as required for repairs, maintenance, and new installations. Maintain a complete and current working understanding of all relevant facilities infrastructure, equipment, and systems. Inspection of fire extinguishers. Any other reasonable duties as requested. QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL NICET II or III – Special Hazards Systems. Strong understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) Act, and EHS policies & procedures. Demonstrated understanding and experience working within Facility Maintenance or similar technical environment. Strong understanding and knowledge of technical terminology relating to electrical infrastructure and electronic equipment. Strong understanding of facilities equipment and functionality. Strong understanding of facilities O&M requirements. Strong understanding of equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, & corrective). Desirable NICET I or II - Fire Alarm Systems. NICET I or II - Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems. Experience with Notifier systems. Trade qualification. Enterprise Resource Planning experience (SAP, Archibus, etc.). Microsoft Office Suite experience. EXPERIENCE 2 years' experience in a similar role. Experience with a diverse range of fire systems and suppression equipment highly regarded.
