Job Description Project: The Western Sydney Airport project involves the design and construction of a 3,700-metre-long runway, 3,000 runway landing lights, the service roads, power supply and commissioning, and the integration of all the safety and navigation systems for the facilities.
Western Sydney International is on track to open to international, domestic, and air cargo services in late 2026. The airport will be the catalyst for the transformation of the region, creating jobs, economic growth, and opportunity.
Responsibilities: Oversee the installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems within tunnel infrastructure. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. Manage the daily operations of M&E works, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Ensure adherence to high-risk construction activities and relevant safety documentation (SWMS, CWMS, SOPs). Collaborate with civil and tunnelling teams to align works with program deadlines and milestones. Review installation methodologies for all M&E installations, ensuring correct use of equipment such as winches. Assist with lift studies for heavy equipment installations. Perform inspections, testing, and verification of installed systems. Required Skills and Competencies: Proven experience in managing M&E works in tunnelling or major infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems within the tunnelling environment. Familiarity with industry safety standards and the ability to review safety documentation. Excellent communication and leadership skills to work with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to solve problems and handle complex technical challenges on-site.
