Bus Industry Confederation | Executive Director

Details of the offer

The Executive Director leads the Bus Industry Confederation (BIC) National Office, overseeing a dedicated team to represent and advocate for bus operators, manufacturers, and service providers across Australia.
As the peak national body, the BIC is dedicated to advancing the vision of efficient people mobility, contributing to enhanced public transport solutions, and sustainable urban planning. Recognised as a pivotal stakeholder in public transport discussions, BIC engages with federal, state, and territorial governments to shape policies and strategies.
As the Executive Director, you will be responsible for representing and advocating for the business interests of the bus and coach industry. Your ability to influence and act as the face of the industry will be pivotal to your success in the role.
The bus industry is in an exciting time of growth and change, with the widespread adoption of zero-emission buses, challenges of population growth, and an ageing employee cohort. The Executive Director will take on these challenges with the same passion that exists within the membership base.
Key accountabilities include: Acting as a key spokesperson for the organisation, leading advocacy activities and engaging with external stakeholders to drive key outcomes. Driving, leading, and maintaining strict compliance with governance obligations. Identifying opportunities for improvement and education to others. Working closely with the Council to define the organisation's vision and develop strategies and business plans to achieve these goals. Monitoring the industry environment for potential impact on members and the Confederation's work - making recommendations to the Council. Leading and developing the dedicated Secretariat team. Growing membership and ensuring the delivery of services and relevant member value propositions. Identifying and pursuing revenue and funding streams, ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements and budgeting. Applications will close on 10 January 2025; however, we will commence interviews immediately for the right candidates.
