Djarragun College is a non-denominational independent college specialising in providing an excellent learning environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander students from Prep to Year 12.
The College provides opportunities and pathways for those seeking entrance into university and other tertiary education as well as the largest vocational educational programs for those pursuing a pathway from school to work.
The College is seeking a new Bus Driver and Support Officer to commence in early 2025 from its Gordonvale campus.
The role's key duties include operating one of the College's school bus runs (morning and afternoon split shift).
Key Responsibilities:
Safely transport students to and from various locations.
Maintain a clean and mechanically-sound bus at all times.
Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
Perform regulatory documentation e.g.
safety checks, passenger records etc.
Interact professionally with students, staff, and the public.
Other logistical and property related support activity.
Qualifications:
Valid MR or above driver's license with a clean driving record.
Industry authorisation to operate a public transport vehicle.
Blue Card for Working with Children
Experience in driving buses or large vehicles is preferred.
Skills in basic property maintenance and repair work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong commitment to the safety and wellbeing of students.
