The role:
The Building Inspector will join our team in our ACT office.
You will ensure compliance with the Building Code of Australia and relevant state-based regulations, undertaking a full range of Building Inspection duties.
Additionally, you will actively participate in contributing to company performance targets, marketing to new clients, and preserving relationships with an existing client base.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across many aspects of the business and a variety of projects.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure compliance with the Building Act and Regulations and the Building Code of Australia by undertaking the full range of Building Inspection duties.
Assess project documentation and liaise with clients.
Assess modification or performance variations to procedures and investigate alternative avenues for resolution.
Provide on-site direction where required.
Proactively involve in internal technical discussions, providing guidance and opinions on complex technical matters.
Ensure communication with other authorities and councils.
Assist the Business Unit team as required on day-to-day management/assessment of projects.
What's needed?
Ideally, you will have previous experience and the following skillsets:
Experience working on large, complex commercial projects is beneficial.
Experience working in the private industry would be beneficial.
Attention to detail and proven ability to write high-quality and considered reports.
Professional attitude, friendly personality, and self-motivated.
Ability to follow up targets and deadlines to achieve outcomes.
Report all observable hazards, incidents, and/or injuries.
Implement quality control procedures and ensure adherence in relation to auditing.
Participate as a team member in relevant procedure reviews and changes.
Identify and report quality issues and implement preventative actions.
