About The Opportunity As an Environmental Health Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of environmental and public health services through effective inspections, investigations, and community-focused initiatives.
Key responsibilities include: Inspections and Investigations: Conduct audits of licensed premises and investigate complaints related to environmental and public health matters, ensuring compliance with legislation and standards. Applications and Licenses: Assess applications and licenses relevant to the role, providing accurate interpretations of regulations and guidelines. Support and Collaboration: Offer expert advice and support to team members, contributing to the achievement of organisational and departmental goals. Community Health Programs: Design and deliver dedicated health programs, including public education initiatives, to promote and enhance the health and well-being of the community. About You Tertiary Qualification in Bachelor of Applied Science – Environmental Health, Health Science or other relevant tertiary qualifications. Current professional membership or eligibility for membership with Environmental Health Australia (Qld). A current C class driver's license. Comprehensive knowledge of all relevant Acts, Regulations and Local Laws; and experience in the assessment of relevant applications and investigation of environmental health or public health related complaints. Demonstrated high level of conflict resolution. Demonstrated high level ability to plan workload, achieve set goals and meet deadlines. Demonstrated local government experience desirable.
