POSITION SUMMARY The Bulk HGV Driver position is to provide timely and accurate delivery of products to Air Products customers and own sites in a safe and compliant manner, within agreed processes and procedures. Embracing Air Products core safety values, this role is a front-line business-critical activity, supporting our continuing customer relationships and improving retention on a long-term basis.
NATURE AND SCOPE The role requires HGV drivers to deliver our products safely in accordance with legal requirements and our own safe working procedures throughout the UKI.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES This position is accountable for the following end results:
Adherence to all safety rules, processes, and procedures, as safety is a condition of employment. Pre & Post vehicle check in-line with DVSA guidelines and Air Products standards, which may change from time to time. Loading, unloading, and all other activities associated with product management in-line with Distribution working instructions and procedures available via 'RTL Knowledgebase app'. Successful completion of all LearnEx and regulatory training as required. Maintain tachograph infringement level in-line with DVSA/Traffic commissioner expectations and Air Products standards, whereby regular feedback, monitoring, and coaching will be provided to ensure full compliance. Other expected requirements in-line with Bulk Driver Trade Union Recognition Agreement signed 8th August 2019, available on request via NNC or RTL Knowledgebase app or Air Products management/HR. Able to undertake Night Out duties in a sleeper cab. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS LGV 1 license (HGV Class 1/C+E unrestricted). Proven tanker driving experience (where required) and minimum three years consecutive driving experience operating the class of vehicle that will be operated at Air Products upon employment. Valid (in date) ADR Training Certificate 2,3,8 minimum (refreshed every 5 years). Valid (in date) Driver's CPC Qualification Card (DQC) and evidence of current Periodic Training Status. Proven track record of working within a safety-first environment. Able to work under own initiative with excellent communication skills. Proven track record of ability to drive in a professional manner, and to achieve best in class performance relating to safety and efficiency monitored and supported by digital vehicle data.
