An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Senior Mechanical Designer - Bulk Material Handling to join our Transportation and Logistics consulting business based in one of our offices.
About the role
· Prepare layouts and detail drawings in line with project requirements;
· Deliver design drafting according to required project timeframes and standards by coordinating and supervising project members, reviewing deliverables and preparing design and detail drawings in line with requirements;
· Overcome design/schedule issues by maintaining an overview of activity, communicating with the Principal Draftsperson / Engineer and communicating issues in a timely manner;
· Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects by communicating expectations and holding project members to account for standards;
· Ability to take initiative with designs and layouts based on your knowledge of material handling systems and equipment as well as project parameters to develop concepts and detailed designs.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance at times.
· Comply with all of Ausenco corporate policies and procedures by adopting Ausenco Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and requirements.
· Communicate and work with project teams in both Latin America, North America and Australia.
About you
· A minimum of 10 years' experience in Mechanical, and Bulk Materials Handling design and drafting;
· Knowledge and experience with design of plant and port layouts with knowledge of crushing, grinding, materials handling, stockpiles, rail mounted machines (stackers, reclaimers, shiploaders), rail dumpers and conveyors.
· Experience in requirements for studies and detailed design projects
· flotation, CIL/CIP, slurry, pumping, slurry agitation, particle size classification and separation would also be highly regarded;
· Experience with Bentley Prosteel, Autocad, SmartPlant3D and AutoPLANT are desirable.
· Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
· Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in both Spanish and English
