Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Buildings Support Engineer to join their existing team in Devonport (hybrid working) on a 6 month contract.The RoleAs a Buildings Support Engineer, you will support the design development and delivery of building work packages associated with the 5 Basin berthing requirements for Astute Class submarines at 5 Basin East Wall Centre and South.The Buildings Support Engineer is accountable to the 5 Basin Principal Engineer (Buildings) for the design development of building work packages for quality, output in accordance with scope, schedule, and cost.Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:Manage one or more technical design packages as assigned by the Principal Engineer (Buildings), agreeing project related objectives, managing designer performance, and making appropriate technical management responses. Provide Subject Matter Expert advice as per discipline.Ensure that the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule and budget.Ensure that contractors are familiar with the hazards and risks associated with the work undertaken by the delegated engineering team through effective management and communication of the Risk Assessment.Ensure design information is articulated to the Principal Engineer (Buildings) to enable appropriate justification of the engineering / activities within the Facility Safety Case.Review of Design House submission to confirm building design complies with Planning, Building Control, and Government and Defence related Standards.Advising and assisting with integration and facilities design and management, and stakeholder involvement.YouTo succeed within the role of a Buildings Support Engineer, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:Engineering apprenticeship/HNC qualification in relevant engineering discipline, with demonstrable experienceActively working toward Chartered StatusExperience in working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams to deliver activities on a range of project typesDemonstrable experience in covering a variety of tasks across a range of complexitiesGood communications skills and the ability to interface with other disciplinesPlease note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining SC security clearance.
