Job Description The Role Due to ongoing growth of our Building Services team, our Buildings & Places group is looking for a Technical Director (Building Services) to add to our high-performing, diverse team based in Melbourne.
This role will work closely with the Building Services Practice Lead and Operations Director overseeing Technical Delivery of a variety of projects, driving quality and program objectives across the business.
What will a day in this role look like: Use your outstanding technical ability to integrate and develop multidisciplinary design, coordination and innovation across Health, Aviation, Defence, Education and Transport projects.
This includes the development of templates, guidelines and best practices for delivery of all AECOM projects, working closely with the discipline leads.
Mentor, coach and develop staff and assist them to develop technically, and as a consultant, assisting them in reaching their full potential and maintain strong project outcomes and retention levels within the team.
Undertake gap analysis of the Building Services Group in technical ability and project delivery and actively seek opportunities to assist leaders with resource scheduling on projects.
Assistance in the implementation of technological advancements across engineering disciplines within building services and be actively involved in achieving growth, stability and diversification targets across the group.
Be integral to the achievement of successful delivery of projects and be actively involved strategic leadership plans.
Qualifications The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role.

What are we looking for from you?
Ideally, 20 + years of experience with an appropriate tertiary qualification in Engineering (mechanical, electrical) with accreditation or membership with NER and Professional Engineering Registration (RPEV).
Significant consulting / business and construction contract knowledge with demonstrated commercial acumen and business analysis skills.
Proven experience in the technical leadership and delivery of building services projects in Health, Aviation, Defence, Education, Transport, Research or similar industries with outstanding knowledge of Australian standards and legislation.
Demonstrated experience in major projects and/or team management, with excellent knowledge of project and organisational systems, procedures with a focus on financial systems.
Outstanding leadership skills including; technical leadership, human relations, team building and client interactions.
A passion for building services engineering design and technical leadership to inspire and motivate.
