We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Management Systems Operator to join our team in Melbourne on Full-Time basis. Reporting to the BMS Team Leader, this role will see you support a national telecommunications client with multisite operations across Australia.
The Building Management Systems Operator role is primarily focused on operational delivery, responsible for the monitoring, operation, emergency response and escalation of events associated with building assets, critical systems. In addition, the BMS Operator will be responsible for the monitoring of building sub-contractors performing maintenance and change activities during their shift.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain strong relationships with client representatives.
ISS is providing facilities management services to this client on a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week basis and we will perform services to ensure zero network outages and operational continuity of the facilities assets, as all times for all sites.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Capable of reviewing, monitoring, analysing and controlling all building systems.
Ability to develop a full understanding of the clients Sites, assets and their associated criticality to the Network.
Provide continuous monitoring of the performance of all client monitored sites whilst on shift, using the monitoring equipment located within the clients Operations Centre.
Triage and escalate any potential operating problems to Facilities personnel, ISS National Call center and/or client representatives in accordance with the agreed escalation process.
Update site log of all incidents and happenings during shift and update next shift operators
The BMS operator must prepare a high-level summary of building operation parameters where BMS system allows e.g. electrical energy usage, UPS loading, Equipment Room Operating Temperature Trend etc.;
Take all reasonable action to overcome and or prevent problems escalating.
Manage incidents and the restoration to normal site conditions
Selection Criteria
Have strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
A sound understanding of the operations and maintenance environment
Ability to self-manage, work cooperatively and collaboratively with others and have a flexible approach to function effectively under pressure
Ability to problem solve and work to tight deadlines & timelines
Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to consult effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels
Ability to provide the highest level of customer service in a continually changing environment with a strong emphasis on consistency and flexibility
Ability to work across a 24 hour 7 day per week rotating roster (3 days per week, 12 hour shifts).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Desirable:
Previous experience in BMS or engineering operations
Report writing and auditing experience
Experience in aspects of operational services within critical environments
