Mackay Regional Council is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Building Maintenance Officer to join our dynamic team within the Parks & Open Spaces team.
As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance and operation of parks infrastructure, contributing to the overall safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our community spaces.
This is a full-time permanent position with 4 or 5 weeks annual leave on a 9 day fortnight roster.

As the Building Maintenance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal condition of Parks' built assets in the Mackay Region.
Your key responsibilities encompass visual inspections of park amenities, such as picnic shelters, furniture, shade structures, amenity buildings, and fencing.
You will actively support installations and repairs, operate and maintain small plant equipment, and utilise technology for communication, data collection, and work order management.
Additionally, your role involves contributing to scheduled works and specific projects, all while meeting customer and stakeholder expectations and upholding Council's image and reputation.
Flexibility is essential as you may be assigned other duties within the scope of this position by your immediate supervisor.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
General Construction Induction Training QLD "C" Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent Medium Rigid (MR) Licence or willing to obtain.
Practical experience in the maintenance and operation of a wide range of machinery associated with repair/maintenance and general maintenance, including power tools.
Trade Qualification in a related field such as Carpentry, Building and Construction or similar relevant trade would be highly regarded.
Conduct visual inspection of park facilities or the ability to obtain.

Base annual salary of $ 57,018 - $59,319 + allowance as applicable (level offered will be dependent on successful candidates' qualification and experience) Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply).
