THE ROLE The Building Decommissioning Officer is responsible for the management and delivery of decommissioning of the high-rise towers under the direction of the High-rise Decommissioning Manager. The role will require a dynamic, flexible, and experienced candidate with experience in all facets of project management including coordinating procurement processes, providing advice, and building strong stakeholder relationships to deliver key project outcomes.
The Building Decommissioning Officer is responsible for the management of the sites and coordinating simple works contracts, engaging contractors to decommission critical assets under the direction of the decommissioning manager. The role involves management of procurement processes, active contractor performance management and contract administration duties, budget and cash flow management, and reporting.
The decommission of the Tower will include:
Coordinate with relocations and local housing office to decant site working from individual units through to full site.Coordinate with program consultants and contractors to decommission engineering and fire-related assets.Coordinate with head contractor and responsive maintenance team to supervise simple works contract.Assist in providing advice to stakeholders and assist in the preparation and presentation of reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on a range of matters.Are you: A strong project manager with demonstrated ability to plan projects, prepare budgets, monitor progress and keep stakeholders informed and engaged in a fast-paced and flexible environment?Experienced in delivering multifaceted fast-track residential or social infrastructure projects?A proven professional with exceptional interpersonal, written communication, consultation, and negotiation skills?ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Contribute to the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:Assisting in research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs.Supporting the development and delivery of projects or sub-projects and their successful delivery and completion within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.COVID-19 VACCINATION The department strongly recommends (but does not mandate) that employees maintain their COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with current ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation) advice, given their individual circumstances. As of June 2023, DFFH does not require evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status.
