The Building Coordinator is accountable for proactively supporting the quality of repairs; and contributing to claim cost control through accurate, specific and timely instructions to specialists and identification of rectification works for complex building matters, that balances customer needs and our business outcomes. They provide valuable insights on repairer performance, underwriting and building issues for continuous improvement initiatives.
Through their interactions with internal and external stakeholders and supporting Client Managers, Assessors and our Supply Chain on complex building matters, Building Coordinators deliver brilliant service, providing customers with peace of mind during the claims process.
More specifically, you will:
Provide brilliant service to our customers
Deliver brilliant service when interacting with stakeholders and customers on the Client Manager's, Assessor's or Repairer's request, in line with Suncorp's service excellence standards and principles (be genuine, make it easy, own it and find solutions). Proactively communicate clear and accurate building technical advice on repairs and rectification works when required. Support the management of building related complaints in line with Suncorp's processes and timeframes. Effective claims management
Review scope of work, quotes and specialist reports to ensure customer needs, policy conditions and business outcomes are balanced. Conduct quality activities and on-site audits of building repairs and rectification works, in line with Suncorp's frameworks. Support site inspections when required to ensure scope of works is adhered to, safe work practices are being implemented and quality repairs or rebuilds are being conducted. Support the Client Managers and Assessors by involving the right specialists and third parties at the right time to manage a claim efficiently and provide brilliant service. Contribute to claims cost controls via confirming rectification damage; identifying the right time to involve specialists; and providing insights and feedback into the establishment and maintenance of builder rate cards. Provide technical advice to Client Mangers, Assessors and Builders for complex building-related disputes and complaints. Providing training to repairers and builders when required. Support the project management of complex repairs and rectification works. Work with local authorities and third-party building surveyors on compliance and to ensure repairs comply with relevant BCA and/or Australian standards. Help support the event and regional performance team with detailed ICBM undertakings. Proactive risk management & compliance
Proactively identify potential risks and mitigate where possible to avoid unnecessary escalation of a claim. Identify potentially fraudulent activity and immediately report anything suspicious to your leader. Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, legislative and external requirements (e.g., General Insurance Code of Practice, Privacy, IDR processes). Ensure compliance with the relevant building codes whilst reviewing scopes of work for repairs. Positively contribute
Actively support others during major events and catastrophes, in line with the Event Response Plan. Provide insights, trends and feedback on building repairs and rectification works to your leader. Identify any process or customer experience improvements and report these to your leader. Take ownership for learning and development to uplift skills and capabilities. Role model the Suncorp Our Compass Behaviours and Code of Conduct. Positively contribute to team and take action to enhance own and others' safety and wellbeing. About You:
Relevant Trade qualification in a repair related discipline (mandatory). Current or expired builders licence (mandatory). Previous demonstrated significant experience of minimum 10+ years in residential building/renovation and extensive estimating (mandatory) Estimating, scheduling and supervising trades and repairs (mandatory) Residential building code knowledge (mandatory) Extensive knowledge of the property repair industry and current repair practices (desired) Key Capabilities:
