We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Building Consultant to join our team at the Sydney office. This role is pivotal in supporting our team with the delivery of comprehensive property consultancy services, contributing to our continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities: Make Good Assessments: Conduct UK dilapidation assessments and negotiations for both tenants and landlords (office and industrial sectors). Schedules of Condition: Prepare incoming schedules of condition for office, retail, and industrial properties. Technical Due Diligence: Perform due diligence at acquisition and disposal of commercial, retail, and industrial assets. Expert Witness: Conduct defect analysis, costing, and reporting as an expert witness. Development Reporting: Manage development PX and end of DLP reporting and fulfill roles under the Strata Building Bond and Inspection Scheme (SBBIS). Lifecycle Analysis: Conduct lifecycle analysis and forecasting for commercial assets. Capital Works Funds: Manage capital works funds for aged care assets, health, and prisons. Portfolio Condition Surveys: Perform portfolio stock condition surveys, including council and university assets. Additional Responsibilities: Client Engagements: Manage daily consultancy and project management of engagements ranging from $1,500 to $500,000+. Client Relationships: Build and maintain client relationships across various sectors in the City of Sydney, including Facilities Management, Development, Strategy, Project Delivery, and Public Art. Consultancy Bids: Tender, negotiate, and prepare consultancy bids for various works including building services, structure/façade/roofs, vertical transport, environmental and HAZMAT surveys, land surveying, heights safety, and BCA compliance. Sub-contractor Management: Oversee sub-contractor reporting and QA, invoicing, financial tracking, and analysis. Associated Duties: Client Development: Develop new and maintain existing client relationships, including in-house relationships. Cross-department Collaboration: Work with Advisory, Tax, and QS departments to achieve engagement fulfillment. Travel: Participate in NSW interstate, national, and international travel as required. Skills and Experience Required: Education: Graduate of a relevant or recognized industry degree course. Experience: 2+ years post-degree experience as a Building Surveyor or in a similar role. Accreditation: MRICS or similar qualifications are beneficial but not essential. Relocation: Suitable for someone looking to relocate to Australia to gain permanent residency.
