Building Code Consultant - Sydney Airport

THE COMPANYOur client has been around since 1990 and is Australia's largest multi-disciplinary consulting company providing building code, fire & life safety, accessibility and essential safety measures to the construction and development industry.
They have offices in Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane.
RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out the day-to-day functions/role of an Accredited Certifier and Principal Certifying Authority.Prepare and issue inspection reports.Assess applications for and issuing Complying Development Certificates and Part 4A Certificates as required under the EP&A Act and Regulations.BCA assessment and reporting, including carrying out inspections of buildings.Provide advice to clients in a written and verbal consulting role.Assess performance-based solutions on all classes of buildings including liaising with fire safety engineers and Fire & Rescue NSW.Audit buildings.Assist with the preparation of fee proposals in accordance with company fee scales.Flexibly adapt to a dynamic work environment while managing time to meet project budgets and timeframes.ABOUT YOU Minimum of 2 years practical experience as a Building Regulations Consultant or Accredited Certifier in either Local Government or private sector.
Registration as an Accredited Building Certifier (preferably A2 or A3) or ability to seek accreditation will be looked upon favourably.Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field.Thorough knowledge and experience with all aspects of the EP&A Act and EP&A Regulations, BCA (Volume 1 and 2) including documents adopted by reference in the BCA such as Australian Standards with all aspects of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards.Preference for an applicant who possesses demonstrated experience in completing certification work for a variety of class 2-9 building projects.Excellent organisation skills, able to work autonomously as well as the ability to multitask to ensure deadlines are met.Intermediate to advanced computer and keyboard skills, fully competent in the use of the Microsoft Office package and Outlook.Bluebeam and BCS (Building Certification Software) experience highly regarded.You must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this position. #J-18808-Ljbffr
