Step into a high profile role with a highly regarded consultancy specialising in mining projects across Australia. We're seeking a Project Manager with a Mechanical Engineering degree to manage high-volume, impactful projects supporting leading mining operators.
Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Oversee the delivery of sustaining capital projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships and aligning project objectives with client expectations. Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones to ensure timely delivery. Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting to meet profitability targets. Resource Allocation: Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources to meet project demands. Change Management: Identify, assess, and implement project scope changes, minimizing impact on timelines and costs. Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to maintain seamless execution. Contract Administration: Manage contracts and ensure compliance with terms, conditions, and deliverables. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all projects adhere to safety standards, industry regulations, and best practices. Brunel are seeking a Project Manager with a Mechanical Engineering degree to manage high-volume, impactful projects supporting leading mining operators.
Essential skills and knowledge: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (essential). Experience: 10+ years in project management, preferably within engineering consultancies and the mining sector. Sustaining Capital Expertise: Proven track record managing sustaining capital projects, including multi-client environments. Project Management Skills: Strong capabilities in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management. Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of mechanical systems, mining operations, and regulatory standards. Commercial Acumen: Experience with contract administration, cost control, and change management processes. Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) and engineering software. Adaptability: Ability to manage complex projects with tight deadlines and competing priorities.
