St Mary's School is situated in the town of Beaudesert. We are a co-educational primary school with a current enrolment of approximately 370 students, offering the latest in teaching and learning, technology, and extracurricular activities. We are seeking to fill two roles; the first role is Workplace Health and Safety Officer (WHSO) and the second role is Risk and Compliance Officer to work closely with the principal and school community to undertake a range of WHS related tasks and duties.
Key aspects of the role include but are not limited to: The effective management of safety processes and efficient record keeping. Undertake WHS projects as directed by the leadership team. Follow compliance requirements generated through WHS reports. Undertake WHS review processes and recommend areas for improvement. Conduct classroom safety audits, compliance inspections, and provide recommendations. Assist and guide staff on the completion of risk assessments. Maintain student health plans. Provide and support site-specific health and safety training, including health and safety inductions, that meets BCE health and safety requirements. Coordinate the WHS committee on behalf of the principal. Work closely with BCE WHS staff members. The successful applicant will hold/have/or be prepared to obtain: Senior First Aid Certificate. Strong IT skills and experience. Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety Certificate. Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills: Proven communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with BCE systems such as Guardian and compliance database. Effective management of safety processes and efficient record keeping.
