Team Leader - Child, Youth & Family Services Organisation;
A large, well-established NFP working consistently to build an inclusive, resilient, and creative community. Working with a vast range of clients, they have been providing extensive community support to people across the Northern Territory for over 30 years, particularly to disadvantaged and minority groups.
Role;
Based in Tennant Creek, as the Team Leader you will lead a team of Social Work and Counselling professionals across 3 programs:
Counselling - children, young people, families, and couples counselling. Children & Parenting - early intervention/prevention work. Youth Mental Health - at risk of and/or experiencing mental health difficulties. Your team is a mix of case workers, counsellors, and outreach workers. You'll manage the triage, assessment, and allocation of participants across your programs. You'll standardise models of practice to ensure team members provide best practice, evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate services; and provide support and guidance to ensure staff deliver high-quality, responsive case work and services, in line with contractual obligations, mandatory reporting legislation, and the needs of the community.
Criteria;
Degree in Social Work, Counselling (or related field) degree, or a similar post-grad qualification. Experience in relevant practice and/or team leadership in a similar setting. Previous frontline experience working with disadvantaged children, young people, and families. Skilled in report writing, case note writing, and providing staff supervision. Ability to communicate effectively to staff, management, and stakeholders across a range of diverse cultural groups and settings. Demonstrated cultural competency and knowledge of issues relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. Additional Information; Based in Tennant Creek, NT.
