The Opportunity The Breeder Site Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the piggery's breeding program to achieve high reproductive performance and animal welfare standards. This role involves overseeing daily breeding operations, managing and developing breeding staff, and ensuring strict adherence to breeding protocols.
You will utilise data-driven insights and innovative practices to continuously improve breeding outcomes, aligning operations with the piggery's production goals. Through effective leadership, you will foster a positive and efficient work environment, maintain the health and productivity of breeding animals, and ensure all facilities and equipment meet quality and safety standards.
Your Role Daily Farm Operations:
Actively contribute to pig production management by overseeing day-to-day operations, including feeding, health monitoring, breeding, and housing Responsibility for planning, organising, controlling, coordination and management performance of pig breeding Provide effective leadership ensuring clear direction, engagement of staff and to assist growth of individuals Lead a team of farm workers, ensuring they are trained in safety practices, animal welfare, and biosecurity protocols while maintaining compliance with all industry standards Ensure deliverables are achieved within control including budget, finances, human resources, production techniques/ standards, quality, WHS, & Supply Ensure effective staff management related to staffing levels, training, day to day work schedules, support site managers on leave coverage plans, performance management of staff including discipline and performance reviews Develop and manage production schedules to optimize resource use, monitor the production cycle, and work to achieve or exceed production targets Embrace a proactive approach to ongoing improvement and remain enthusiastic about exploring new opportunities for operational enhancement Maintaining a high-quality environment for the welfare and well-being of our animals; Maintain detailed records of livestock, feed, and farm activities using farm management software, identifying areas for increased efficiency and process improvements Facility & Equipment Management:
Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of farm equipment, infrastructure, and facilities to ensure smooth, reliable operation About you SunPork Farms has established an efficient, highly skilled yet diversified team that is dedicated to producing high quality, sustainable welfare-optimal products. As a key member of this team, the successful applicant must:
5+ Years in Pork Production (with specific experience within breeder processes) Leadership and team management skills with the ability to engage and mentor teams Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
