We offer the opportunities of a large city, with the quiet feel of a smaller town.The Co-curricular Arts program is a vibrant department of the School and has grown significantly to support the artistic endeavours of our student cohort. We are now seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Brass Music Specialist Instructor and Classroom Tutor to join our close knit 'Arts' team.In this DUAL role you will provide private and/or group lessons in Brass, including the preparation and delivery of trumpet, trombone, and baritone horn; monitor, evaluate and report on student progress; prepare students for music presentations throughout the year; and maintain accurate records of student progress.When working as a Classroom Tutor, you will provide lessons to Year 4 students within the Junior School as part of their dedicated timetable.This is a part-time commitment of 4.5 hours per week in Semester 1 and 3.5 hours per week in Semester 2 for the Brass Classroom Tutor work, plus approximately 3 hrs per week (increasing) of private tuition work plus additional approved hours to support performance requirements.You will be paid by the School directly for your Classroom Tutor work and will be under the terms of a Service Agreement for your Specialist Brass tuition where you will invoice families directly for your time. The hourly rate for all work is $85 per hour in line with the QMTA rates.WHAT YOU WILL BRINGTo be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated skills and experience in teaching and directing students and ensembles across all year levels, andTeaching and/or Performance qualifications in Instrumental Music (Brass) from a recognised university or college.Demonstrated skills and expertise in teaching Brass in a private and/or group learning environment from beginner to advanced levels.Ability to plan and deliver engaging private instrumental lessons that maximise learning outcomes for students with diverse learning needs, musical interests, and varying levels of musical ability.Expertise in and an ability to incorporate various contemporary and classical skills and techniques into ensemble and individual student development.Capacity to integrate technology into effective Co-curricular teaching practice.Demonstrate highly effective communication skills in both speaking and writing, and highly developed interpersonal, and human-relations skills in the context of relating to staff, students, and parents/guardians.Support and assist the development and implementation of the school's evolving Co-curricular Arts Program.Eligibility to work in Australia or can obtain a Working with Children Blue and/or registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.Culture fit and attitude are also highly important to us, so a passion for the work you do and the ability to understand and work within our vision, mission and values is paramount to your success in this role.APPLY NOWIf this sounds like you and you are interested in joining a highly respected school community, click the APPLY NOW button via SEEK and provide a copy of your CV, three referees one being your current manager, and a cover letter addressed to the Head of Performing Arts – Junior School, outlining your experience as it relates to this role.
