This role is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in all operational aspects of the store. This role is accountable for running the day-to-day operations of the floor, while ensuring that stock is receipted correctly. The Store Operations Manager will take an active lead in recruiting and training team members, ensuring the safe operation of the store and ensuring effective and efficient communication to the customer and the team.In this Role You Will be…Support the Store Manager to manage sale of stock to ensure targeted sales margins are achievedGenerate sales to meet weekly budget and YTD budget targetsManage the training and conduct of all replenishment and receiving team membersManage operational staff wages spend to the required % of sales on a weekly basis, to meet YTD budgetReview KRONOS exception reports and sign off on payroll for operational team membersManage daily operations and team members to ensure the store is full and faced, and the store is clean and safeRetain all current customers and grow new customer base on a yearly basisUndertake tool box talks and team huddles with operational team members at least once a weekManage store security standards by following all Company policy and procedures relating to store securityEnsure all operational team members comply with and follow OH&S policies and procedures, food safety proceduresYou're Likely a Match…Experience in a similar role with excellent knowledge of wholesale / retail operations within grocery / Confectionery or Hospitality (Foodservice & Liquor) industryExcellent customer service skillsPossesses leadership, communication and motivational skills and techniquesAdvanced understanding of OH&S, HACCP and EEO policies, procedures and legislationsExcellent negotiation skills with relevance to supplier deals and customersHigh organizational skillsMake sound decisionsBusiness / commercial / financial acumenKnowledge of MS Office applications and other enterprise systems (D365, etc)Life at MetcashExperience a supportive and flexible work environment.
