BRANCH MANAGER - Newcastle - Central CoastBurns & Co Auctions is a family-owned business that commenced operations in 2014 and has become a trusted name across the country in the field of classic and collectible cars, motorcycles, and selected memorabilia.
Our head office is in Bayswater, Melbourne, Vic, where we have a showroom, auction center, and administration hub. We also have a facility in Thornton (Newcastle), N.S.W., where we receive, prepare, auction, and dispatch vehicles, and provide a showroom. All vehicles from this facility are sold via livestream from our Bayswater auction rooms.
We conducted around 100 auctions in 2024, with a turnover exceeding $34 million, selling approximately 600 cars, 200 motorcycles, and numerous memorabilia and collectibles. We currently have around 15 full-time staff plus casuals and are looking to add a Newcastle - Central Coast Manager to our team, focusing primarily on the automotive side of the business.
The ideal candidate will possess:
A team-first approachStrong organizational skills and a professional appearanceA proven record in similar roles or salesExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAutomotive experience, preferably in car sales or auction platformsAn interest in classic and collectible cars or bikes (a bonus)A willingness to contribute to business growth and company directionA self-starter attitude with a strong work ethicThe ability to commit to occasional weekends for major auctionsAttention to detail and adherence to office proceduresA desire to visit clients and appraise vehicles throughout N.S.W.A willingness to represent the company at selected car shows/eventsA collaborative spirit to assist existing staffA long-term career perspective, not just a jobThe role involves managing and growing our N.S.W. automotive auctions while identifying opportunities in memorabilia and collectibles. Responsibilities include sourcing suitable cars and motorcycles for upcoming auctions, preparing entries, photographing and displaying them for inspection, managing vendors on auction days, and ensuring satisfactory delivery.
We will provide full "on the ground" training, initially requiring time spent at our Bayswater facility. This position services a rapidly growing area, and we anticipate significant expansion in our Newcastle/Central Coast facility.
