The Laboratory Supervisor provides a range of technical and logistical support to ensure the efficient and safe operations of the laboratories, and from time-to-time, providing or supporting teaching or training activities related to the Yarra Ranges Tech School Science programs including the preparation of teaching materials and lesson planning.
The Yarra Ranges Tech School operates as part of Academic Governance and collaborates with schools, industry, and community partners to deliver impactful educational experiences. Programs offered are designed to align with contemporary industry practices and future-focused technologies.
Please note; this role is casual and is located in Lilydale. Hourly rate for this role is PACCT 5 $46.48
About You: Relevant biological science or biotechnology qualification is preferred Level 2 First Aid qualification or a willingness to undertake this training Extensive work experience in a relevant biological science area is preferred, plus willingness to maintain currency of knowledge in computer and technical-equipment skills Proven ability to provide or support teaching or training activities related to the BCoE including the preparation of teaching materials and lesson planning Demonstrated experience in daily laboratory operations, including supporting the set-up, conduct and close of simulation education, and laboratory and other practical teaching sessions. This includes demonstrated experience in equipment and facility maintenance particularly in an education setting Proficient with use of common and often complex job-specific software applications and technical equipment to support contemporary laboratory activities High level knowledge and familiarity with Occupation Health and Safety legislation and regulatory requirements as applicable in a teaching, clinical and laboratory environment Experience in accurate identification of resource requirements and the ability to monitor and keep accurate records of resource use; and, maintain formal records required for resource management Draws on a range of sources to identify new ways of doing things; actively generates and promotes new ideas; and, reflects on experience and is open to new ways to improve practice About Us: We are proud to be a leading education provider with a strong reputation for delivering high quality educational outcomes.
