Boss Energy owns the Honeymoon uranium mine in South Australia, which is fully licensed for uranium exports of up to 3.3mlb and is run by an industry experienced team of mining professionals.
With the recent purchase of a 30% stake in the Alta Mesa Uranium Project in South Texas USA, Boss Energy has reaffirmed its vision to become a global uranium supplier.
About the Role
Our newly created Database Geologist position is located at either our Subiaco office in Perth or our Adelaide CBD office.
This role supports the exploration and mining geology teams by providing accurate lithological and downhole geophysical data for the development of lithological models and resource estimation.
The primary responsibility is to ensure the prompt import, validation, and distribution of field data to key stakeholders.
This role has the option of full time or part time hours.
Key Responsibilities
Management of the company's Micromine Geobank database and spatial (GIS) data.
Timely import and QA/QC of drilling data from the exploration and mine site teams and joint venture partners plus data received as part of project acquisition or due diligence activities.
Maintain timely flow of clean data from the drill site to Boss' Geobank database to various users (typically using Micromine 3D modelling software).
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security through regular audits and quality checks.
Develop and enforce data management standards and protocols across the organization.
Provide technical support to users of Geobank, offering guidance on data-related queries and troubleshooting issues.
Conduct training sessions to educate team members on database management best practices and software utilization.
Although the role is office-based, the incumbent may be required to spend occasional short periods at the Honeymoon mine site and/or at field camps.
About You
You will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Geology/Earth Sciences or a related field.
Experience with the Micromine software suite (Geobank, Micromine Origin).
Strong database management skills.
Excellent personal & communication skills with a desire to work collaboratively.
Desirable:
Good understanding of downhole logging data generated by BMR, PFN and gamma tools.
Experience with QGIS and WellCad.
Experience in SQL or similar query languages.
Good knowledge of state reporting requirements with regard to data and data formats.
