Boral | Planning And Approvals Manager

Details of the offer

Your next opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Planning & Approvals Manager to join our team in Brisbane, working from the Milton office. This pivotal role involves driving the planning, approvals, and tenure management for Boral's sites across Queensland, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory. With regular monthly travel and site visits, you'll play a vital role in securing operational continuity, managing expansions, and ensuring compliance with all planning and regulatory requirements.
Your day will involve:
Regional Oversight: Oversee planning for all Boral assets in SEQ, regional QLD, NT, and WA, including concrete, asphalt, and quarries. Provide planning expertise and manage all statutory approvals and encroachment issues. Consultant Management: Engage and direct consultants for specialized planning needs, ensuring project requirements are met and approvals are secured efficiently. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a primary contact with state and local governments for site approvals and negotiate outcomes in line with Boral's objectives. Application & Submission Leadership: Prepare and submit development applications (DA), clearing permits, and other relevant approvals to protect and expand Boral's assets. Team Support & Collaboration: Work closely with a diverse internal team of town planners, engineers, geologists, and quarry development specialists to align on project goals. What are we looking for?
Planning Expertise: Proven experience in town planning (experience in extractive industry planning is beneficial, but not essential). Approval and Permit Knowledge: Strong familiarity with development applications, regulatory negotiations, and securing approvals. Communication Skills: Skilled in engaging stakeholders and coordinating with external project teams, with the ability to influence and drive successful planning outcomes. Hands-on Attitude: A proactive, can-do approach, with the ability to work well with a team and collaborate effectively across the business. What's on offer?
Join a close-knit and highly skilled team in a collaborative work environment, where you'll have opportunities for career growth and be part of a company shaping Australia's infrastructure. This role offers flexibility but will require the dedication to travel regionally when required and make site visits to engage with local authorities and stakeholders directly.
