We are looking for a Book Enthusiast to join our awesome team!
It's an exciting role with the longest-serving bookstore in Howick Village.
The store is well and truly part of the local community—regular customers and the opportunity to work with local school libraries.
Location: Local candidates from the Howick area (East Auckland).
Availability: Must be able to work during the week (at least 4 days) Mon - Friday.
Some weekend work may be available.
It can be a part-time role for the right candidate if they can do retail work as well.
Preferred Experience: Book buying/book reviewing, merchandising preferred.Retail and/or NZ Post experience will be a bonus.Must be computer literate.Good communication skills are essential.Must be able to assist with lifting and stocking up bookshelves. We're looking for someone who: Can work with book reps to buy books.Takes pride in setting up and displaying books.Loves to read books – because you will be asked for recommendations.Likes to stay busy and self-motivated – due to the busy nature of the business.Monitors stock levels.Follows up on outstanding instore and online orders.Checks delivery quantities.Keeps the store clean, tidy and well-stocked at all times. You will need the following qualities and experience: Excellent communication skills.Enthusiasm for customer service.Goal-oriented.Eye for detail and love of accuracy.Ability to work as part of a team.Willingness to contribute to continuous improvement.
