Position Overview
We are on the hunt for an excellent Bookkeeping Manager, for a maternity cover, with the potentially to move to permanent for the right candidate. As a Bookkeeping Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily bookkeeping operations and managing a team of bookkeepers.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and mentor a team of bookkeepers, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures.
Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax filings.
Identify and resolve discrepancies and issues in financial records.
Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
Qualifications
Bookkeeping qualification
CA or CPA (desirable but not essential)
Experience managing a team of bookkeepers
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero)
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
