About the role As a Bookkeeper (Part-time - 3-days a week) at Sonder, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of daily bookkeeping tasks. Your role will involve managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. You will play a key part in maintaining financial integrity while providing exceptional support to our suppliers and customers. Your attention to detail and organisational skills will help us achieve high levels of accuracy and efficiency in all financial operations. What you'll be doing Process supplier invoices and Weel (credit card) transactions Produce fortnightly supplier payment batches Conduct daily bank and credit card reconciliations Perform supplier statement reconciliations Provide prompt responses to supplier and customer queries, escalating when necessary Manage supplier records and verification processes using EFTSURE Assist with debt collection activities Support invoice generation Aid in internal and external audits Ensure compliance with relevant state and territory requirements Prepare and lodge quarterly BAS Who are we looking for? What you bring to the team: Demonstrated expertise in bookkeeping and accounting Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations Experience in processing payroll in Australia (experience in NZ and UK payroll is a plus) Familiarity with implementing new systems (desirable) Experience in BAS preparation and lodgement Proficient in XERO and Excel functions Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices Knowledge of Australian payroll regulations (NZ and UK knowledge is a plus) Awareness of current and relevant legislation Ability to understand and adhere to processes Quick to learn new systems; tech-savvy Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working independently Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines Why join Sonder?
