What You'll Be Doing:
As a key part of our Administration department, the bookkeeper is responsible for managing and overseeing our daily financial transactions to ensure that all records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant regulations. This role offers the opportunity to provide crucial financial support to the Managing Director and other departments while helping to drive the business's ongoing success. The role's key responsibilities are:
Accurately manage and record financial transactions (accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, etc.).Process payroll, including tax and superannuation.Prepare and lodge BAS, ensuring compliance with GST and PAYG obligations.Generate financial reports and assist in budgeting and analysis.Support the company with ad-hoc financial tasks and audits.Maintain compliance with Australian accounting standards and taxation laws. What We're Looking For:
Requirements:Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Diploma of Accounting (or equivalent experience).Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly in retail.Proficiency in XERO accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Experience with GST, BAS, and payroll processing.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.Desirable:5+ years of bookkeeping experience in retail or e-commerce.Experience with inventory management systems and USD transactions.
