About the role The Bookkeeper plays an important part in the ability of the organisation to realise its financial objectives.
The incumbent requires a strong knowledge of financial systems and skills in financial accounting and management and current software programs (e.g.
XERO, Employment Hero, and platforms such as Upworks to manage contractors).
The major accountabilities of the position are financial and accounting management, taxation, payroll, and audit preparation.
The role works under the direction of an experienced Financial Controller.
The ideal applicant will have the following key qualifications/capabilities:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of accounting and financial administration; including the processing of invoices, financial transactions to cost centers, reconciliation of accounts, BAS statement preparation, contribution to internal financial reporting preparation, credit card transactions, data risk minimisation, compliance, and reporting requirements.Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the management of the payroll function including the administration of superannuation, salary sacrifice, and relevant statutory obligations.Advanced skills and experience in Microsoft (Excel) software, Employment Hero, and Upworks.Must have experience in Xero accounting software.Excellent attention to detail ensuring methodical and accurate financial administrative policies and practices are adhered to.Strong conceptual skills including the ability for analysis and problem-solving.Ability to work independently with strong organisational and time management skills.High level verbal and written communication skills.Possess or have the ability to obtain a Working with Children 'Blue Card' and Police Check.Formal accounting or financial administration qualifications or progression towards these qualifications.Previous experience in not-for-profit organisations or educational institutions with remote locations and services within those locations.How to Apply Applicants need to submit a resume and an application letter through the link that addresses the essential selection criteria above.
