About the Role: We are seeking a highly enthusiastic, motivated and team orientated professional with a passion for diversity to join the team. The Booking Officer has a vital role in supporting the team to meet the diverse needs of this consumer cohort by coordinating translation and interpreting services in a timely, accurate and customer-focused manner. This role will also support innovation and improvement projects. This is a Full-Time ongoing position at 80 hours per fortnight within the RCH Interpreter Service. What you'll achieve: Coordinate and communicate all interpreter bookings for patients/ families/ carers with the utilisation of online internal and external booking systems. Coordinate the team's administrative workflows to ensure optimal outcomes within prescribed timeframes. Collect and report on required data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, including key performance indicators and patient demographics. Support the effective functioning of the Interpreter Service by resolving service delivery issues. Lead the ongoing development, review and maintenance of administrative processes and team communication mechanisms. Ensure a high level of customer service is maintained at all times by encouraging feedback, as well as recording and processing complaints in a professional manner. Ensure requests for interpreters are promptly and courteously processed, demonstrating fiscal responsibility and sourcing the most appropriately qualified interpreter and service type for each appointment eg; Telephone, Telehealth or Face to Face. Your skills and experience: Several years' experience in a similar role Strong customer service experience working in a busy frontline customer service-based role Experience in working within a culturally diverse health workforce or equivalent Experience using computer applications, including but not limited to MS Office products and electronic medical record systems (eg.EPIC and IBA) Experience and proficiency in educating others about interpreter usage and issues related to cultural awareness Desirable - NAATI Certified Provisional Interpreter or Certified Interpreter qualifications If this sounds like you, click here to view the position description.
