The Department
Alfred Health Radiation Oncology (AHRO) is a unit of a comprehensive cancer service, with sites located at The Alfred - Melbourne (ARO) and Gippsland Radiation Oncology (GRO) at Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) - Traralgon. The service provides the full range of general radiation oncology and radiation therapy services in addition to some specialised services with both state and national significance.
The Role
The Booking Coordinator is responsible for scheduling patient Radiation Oncology appointments related to radiotherapy treatment atARO. The position involves coordinatingbooking requests received from Radiation Oncologists and Therapists with a view to ensuring efficient and effective patient scheduling. In so doing, the incumbent is expected to liaise and work closely with patients and carers, the multidisciplinary cancer team at Alfred, Radiation Oncology staff and at times the Radiation Oncology staff at GRO.
Qualifications/Experience Required
Essential
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to manage allocated workload efficiently, effectively and safely.
• Demonstrated awareness of and commitment to quality customer (internal and external) service.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable
• Experience in a patient care setting.
• Familiarity and experience with electronic patient scheduling and appointment systems, preferably in a Radiation Oncology setting.
