Job posting end date: 10/25/2024 Come join our team at the newest service centre of the Pilbara located at Karratha as a Boilermaker/ Welder. This role is offered on an 8/6 roster and preference to residential applications will be given; however, those that have the ideal skill set based in Perth will also be considered. What you will do: Ensure all safety inductions and procedures have been completed prior to undertaking any tasks.Mark out/off structural fabrication and shapes for screens etc. according to specifications.After dressing has been completed by the steelyard, prepare material for bending, drilling or machining.Assemble and weld parts according to technical engineering drawings and route sheets.Repair, replace, modify and fabricate using appropriate tools and welding techniques.Perform appropriate welding to carry out the job.Operate hand tools and power tools appropriate to the job.Draw and interpret sketches appropriate to the job.Operate forklift/crane when required to shift and load equipment.Assist in the provision of on-the-job training when required.Dismantle, replace and assemble engineering components during general fabrication section activities.Conduct QA/QC inspections at 3rd party vendors, ensuring all repairs/project works are to Metso standards, liaising with Engineering and product support as necessary.To succeed: Essential: Boilermaker Trade Certificate.Significant boiler making experience.Ability to work in confined spaces.Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Strong attention to detail.Desirable: Current forklift ticket.Current dogman's ticket.Metso is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce culture.
