Position Overview Crack inspections on truck-mounted construction equipment booms. Specialist crack repairs, including thorough preparation of damaged areas for welding. Welding of high-grade, 700 Grade steels, including up-welds and other positions. Welding and grinding using heavy machinery and equipment to carry out repairs safely. Assisting the workshop plant mechanics with equipment repairs or servicing when not doing boom crack repairs. Workshop 'All-rounder' tasks including assisting others, moving equipment, and forklift operation. The ability to move from job-to-job and handle changes in job priorities without fuss. Produce quality crack repairs while working within safety guidelines. Candidate Requirements Cert III Heavy Fabrication/Boilermaker/Welder or equivalent. Experience and ability welding high-grade 700-grade steel. Knowledge and experience conducting crack repairs on machinery booms highly regarded. An honest worker with a good work ethic. Mechanically minded and open to doing other workshop jobs when there are no crack repair jobs. A helpful attitude and the ability to move from job-to-job and deal with changes in job priorities without fuss. Driver's license, HR highly regarded. Someone who works well autonomously and in small teams.
