As a House Parent, you will play a crucial role in the care and wellbeing of our boarding students, helping them to feel at home and thrive in their academic and personal lives.
About TGS Toowoomba Grammar School was founded in 1875 and is a member school of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland (GPS).
It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12.
There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
The School's campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.

About the Position The House Parent is a permanent part-time position providing supervision and care for around 45 - 55 male boarders aged between approximately 12-18 years.
The House Parent will be on duty five days each week for the duration of the school year (approximately 37 weeks per year).
No supervision duty is required during school holiday periods.
With experienced boarding staff on duty alongside the House Parent, this position is open to all qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities: Providing a safe and supportive living environment for students Supporting students' academic and personal growth through guidance and mentorship Building positive relationships with students, parents and staff Assisting boarders to prepare for the school day by ensuring uniforms are presentable and school bags have the appropriate books and resources for learning.
Assisting with the organisation and collection of boarders laundry including a weekly bedding change.
Conducting daily room inspections to ensure a high level of cleanliness and presentation.
Assisting with the smooth running of the boarding house from a day-to-day basis Responding to emergency situations in a professional and prompt manner Requirements: A Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a boarding house Experience in a boarding, school or other educational environment, desirable Current first aid qualifications and Blue Card For a full Position Description please refer to the attachment below.
