As a House Manager, you will play a crucial role in the care and wellbeing of the TGS Boarding Students, helping them to feel at home and thrive in their academic and personal lives.
About TGS TGS was founded in 1875 and is a member school of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland (GPS). It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The School's campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.

About the Position The House Manager facilitates an environment that ensures each student has opportunities to develop socially, personally, and academically, creating a consistent but customised program tailored to individual needs, fostering a sense of connection and belonging. The role is crucial in providing pastoral care for boys living away from home, requiring the development of quality relationships, effective role modelling, and up-to-date knowledge of adolescent care.
Additionally, the House Manager supports the Head of House with operational and administrative responsibilities, forming strong relationships with various stakeholders in the boarding community and ensuring the implementation of emergency procedures and residential routines for the safety and happiness of each boy.
Key Responsibilities: Providing a safe and supportive living environment for students which fosters a culture of respect.Supporting students' academic and personal growth through guidance and mentorship.Building positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.Planning and leading recreational activities and outings.Assisting with the smooth running of the boarding house and coordinating maintenance and housekeeping for a well-kept environment.Responding to emergency situations in a professional and prompt manner.Requirements: A Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a student supervisory role, preferably in a boarding house.Experience in a boarding, school or other educational environment, desirable.Active Duty ABSA course, or willing to obtain.Duty of Care - Book 1, or willing to obtain.Current first aid qualifications and Blue Card.How to apply: All applications are to be submitted via TGS's online Careers Portal and include:
