Company Description The Compassionate Friends Victoria (TCFV) is dedicated to supporting grieving parents, siblings, and grandparents in the event of the death of a child – of any age or from any cause.
Our support team members have each experienced such a loss and provide peer support to grieving family members.
We offer 24-hour grief support services via phone lines and various activities to help cope with grief.
Role Description The Compassionate Friends Victoria (TCFV) is seeking a volunteer Board Treasurer.
The role entails financial oversight, budget planning, and financial reporting.
It is a remote position requiring collaboration with the board to ensure financial stability and adherence to regulations.
We are in search of a Treasurer to guide the organisation, especially in the realms of Accounting and Finance.
Responsibilities include:
- Working alongside current board members, staff, and our bookkeeper.
- Participating in monthly board meetings.
- Collaborating with the Executive committee for oversight and strategic planning.
- Developing and overseeing budgets.
- Ensuring the Association's financial records comply with the Act.
- Coordinating the preparation and certification of the Association's financial statements before their presentation at the annual general meeting.
We are eager to connect with individuals who have:
- Personal experience with loss and grief - desired but not compulsory
- Expertise in financial and legal risk management.
- Previous governance or board experience in a non-profit organization - desired but not compulsory
Time required: Approx 1 hour per week plus 2 hours monthly for a Board meeting.
